Scholarships

USYD offers a broad range of scholarships for international students across undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and research degrees.

 

A key option is the Sydney International Student Award, which provides an ongoing tuition-fee reduction (typically 20%) for eligible applicants from selected regions. High-achieving students can also compete for university-wide and faculty merit awards (Business, Engineering, Science, Arts, Law and more), while research candidates may access tuition and stipend packages through competitive HDR scholarships.

Admissions, English & intakes

Most programs have main intakes in February/March and July/August. Undergraduate entry is based on a recognised senior-secondary qualification; postgraduate entry requires a relevant bachelor’s with the required GPA. Some degrees ask for specific subjects, portfolios or auditions. For English, many courses require IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0) or an equivalent test score, with higher requirements for certain programs.
