The University of Auckland offers two different Master's degrees in Civil Engineering. Choose the option that fits your prior education: Your Current Qualification Recommended Degree Course Length 4-Year Engineering Degree (Not Washington Accord Accredited) Master of Professional Engineering 1.5 Years (180 Points) 3-Year Science or Technology Degree (BSc / BTech) Master of Professional Engineering 2 Years (240 Points) 4-Year Engineering Degree (Already Washington Accord Accredited) Master of Civil Engineering 1 Year (120 Points) 1. Master of Professional Engineering (Civil) Best for: Students without a Washington Accord degree. Goal: Gives you practical skills and helps you meet New Zealand professional standards. 2. Master of Civil Engineering Best for: Students who already have a Washington Accord degree. Goal: Focuses on advanced technical subjects and research. Why Does the Washington Accord Matter?
